One of the leading issuers of fixed index annuities has just announced a new product to their already competitive portfolio. According to a recent Yahoo!Finance article, American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company is offering the new RateShield fixed annuity series, which guarantees growth at a set interest rate to provide income in retirement. All of the new products are available with an optional lifetime income rider, the IncomeShield, which provides a lifelong revenue source to the contract owner and spouse.
“Americans are looking for retirement products that offer predictable results in an unpredictable world,” stated the president at American Equity, Ron Grensteiner. “That’s why we design products that offer reliable growth for guaranteed income, with the ability to turn a predictable revenue stream into a lifetime of income. As American Equity expands its offerings in both the broker-dealer and independent agent channel, we remain committed to the superior service and product integrity our contract owners and agents have come to expect.”
Buyers will find competitive rates with the RateShield series, which is already available. Each product has a 10% free withdrawal after the first contract year, and comes with an option for seven or 10-year surrender schedules. The IncomeShield rider, which features 8.5% simple interest over a 20-year period on the income account value, is available on all products.
“A guaranteed lifetime income for our contract owners is of paramount importance to us,” claimed Kirby Wood, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at American Equity. “American Equity works to provide effective products that help meet the financial demands associated with long retirements. We want to help our contract owners to sleep well knowing their hard earned dollars are safe and their income is secure.”
